Does this sound familiar?

You’re putting real effort into your health. You’re just not confident it’s going where it counts.

People come to Thriveology from two directions. Both deserve the same thing: clinical judgment about where the real leverage is — and help acting on it.

Symptoms without answers

“Your labs are normal.” But you don’t feel normal.

  • Weight that won’t budge regardless of diet and exercise
  • No energy, however long you sleep
  • Brain fog, irritability, anxiety or low mood
  • Bloating and digestive trouble — plus thinning hair, dry skin, breakouts

These are real, and they deserve a real evaluation. Often they trace to a handful of interconnected factors — thyroid, gut, hormones, metabolism, sleep, stress — that a standard physical isn’t designed to look at together.

Lots of effort, not much clarity

You’re doing a great deal — and still not sure what’s actually working.

  • A growing collection of supplements, each with a reason you can’t quite remember
  • Wearables, apps and panels that produce data — but not decisions
  • A new protocol every few months — and the same symptoms
  • Knowing what you should change — sleep, food, strength, stress — and not managing to

It’s often easier to buy a test or start a new protocol than to change deeply ingrained habits. Testing offers information, novelty and a sense of control; changing how you eat, sleep, move and connect asks for patience and support. Both can be the right call. The skill is knowing which one your situation needs.

A different way to think about it

What if better health didn’t require doing more?

Many wellness businesses compete by offering more — more testing, more supplements, more protocols, more technology. Thriveology is built on discernment: knowing which interventions are worth considering, which are unnecessary, and which foundational behaviors deserve more of your attention. The right intervention, for the right person, at the right time.

Many signals. One that matters.

Thoughtful evaluation, not comprehensive testing.

We start with your whole story — history, symptoms, lifestyle, existing results, goals — and identify where the greatest opportunities for improvement are. Sometimes that points to a specific test. Often it points to something you already have the power to change.

Know which biomarkers matter — and what to do about them.

A validated treatment target is different from a proposed “optimal” range that hasn’t been shown to improve outcomes. We’ll tell you which is which. Clinical sophistication shows most clearly in explaining why a test isn’t necessary.

Follow-through, not just findings.

Knowing what matters and consistently doing what matters are two different things. Health coaching turns insight into realistic change — a manageable number of interventions, with support and accountability, measured by how you actually feel and function.

The Thrive Method

How we decide what matters.

Five steps that decide what to keep, what merits investigation, and what may be adding burden without benefit — so your plan is as sophisticated as it needs to be, and no more. Then we help you carry it out.

Explore the full approach
  1. 01

    Understand the whole person

Health history, symptoms, lifestyle, existing medical information, and personal goals — the context every later decision depends on.

  2. 02

Identify the greatest opportunities for improvement

What is most likely to produce meaningful benefit — foundational behaviors, and any clinical concern that requires evaluation.

  3. 03

    Test with purpose

Conventional or specialized testing when the result is likely to clarify an important question or change a decision.

  4. 04

    Create a focused, realistic plan

A manageable number of interventions, prioritized — rather than an overwhelming protocol you abandon by week three.

  5. 05

    Measure what matters and refine

Symptoms, function, quality of life, relevant clinical outcomes and your own experience — not just changes in biomarkers.

A fair question

If the fundamentals are well known, why work with us?

Because knowing what matters and consistently doing what matters are two different things. And because individual circumstances can make the path less straightforward than general advice suggests.

We’re not selling secret knowledge. We’re offering personalized judgment, accountability, practical strategies and support.

Personalized judgment

General recommendations are general. A clinician who has reviewed your whole picture can tell you which of them matter most for you — and which don’t.

Thoughtful assessment when something’s wrong

Legitimate clinical concerns deserve targeted investigation and, where appropriate, coordination with your licensed medical providers.

Practical strategies

“Sleep more, eat better, build strength, manage stress” is easy to say. Translating it into realistic changes in your real life is the work — and it’s where most plans fail.

Accountability and support

Certified health coaching keeps the plan alive past the first enthusiastic week — and adjusts it when life gets in the way, because it will.

What you receive

One report. Plain English. Clear priorities.

Every evaluation comes with your personal Functional Health Report — a clinician’s reading of what your results mean for you, and which of them are worth acting on.

  • Every marker read against the clinical range and your history — a validated target to act on, a value to watch, or a number that doesn’t change the plan
  • A body-systems view of how the findings connect to how you feel
  • A short, prioritized list of what’s worth acting on — and what you can let go
  • A personal letter from Dr. Loree summarizing what matters most

Where advanced testing fits

More data isn’t always better health.

Advanced testing has a clear, defensible place in our model: when a result is likely to clarify an important question or change a decision. The same tool can be essential for one person and merely interesting for another.

  • Continuous glucose monitorHighly valuable for diabetes management and select metabolic concerns. For general wellness, data is only as useful as your ability to interpret it and translate it into meaningful action.
  • Hormone panelValuable when perimenopausal or PCOS symptoms aren’t resolving and the result will guide treatment. Not for adjusting levels that are healthy for your age.
  • “Optimal” rangesA validated treatment target is worth acting on. A proposed functional range with no outcome evidence is a hypothesis — we’ll say so, and we won’t build a protocol on it.
  • Specialty gut, mold or metals testingClinically important for persistent, unexplained symptoms with a plausible exposure or history. As a routine screen — rarely worth the cost or the worry.

A different perspective on health and longevity

Dr. Loree Pinnavaia, DC Certified Functional Medicine

I haven’t rejected the work I’ve spent my career doing. I’ve refined my understanding of what makes it valuable.

For more than two decades, as a functional medicine practitioner, educator and lifelong athlete, I’ve explored the science of nutrition, metabolism, hormones, chronic disease and longevity — and embraced many of the sophisticated tools that promise better health. Over the years, something became clear: some of the most health-conscious people I met were also among the most overwhelmed, investing enormous time and money in supplements, specialty testing and complicated protocols while struggling with the very foundations of health.

That realization didn’t lead me to abandon functional medicine. It led me to practice it more thoughtfully. I still believe in understanding the whole person, looking for patterns and using sophisticated testing when it can provide meaningful answers. I’ve simply learned that the most effective approach isn’t necessarily the most complicated one.

Good to know

The questions people ask before they book.

See all FAQs
How is this different from other functional medicine practices?+

Many practices market themselves through the tools they offer — microbiome tests, hormone panels, advanced biomarkers, specialized supplements. We think functional medicine is a way of thinking: understanding the whole person, recognizing how body systems relate, individualizing care. All of that is preserved without assuming every patient needs extensive testing. And we pair it with certified health coaching, because findings without follow-through don’t change how you feel.

Will you tell me to stop my supplements?+

Sometimes. Everything you take is evaluated the same way: is it worth keeping, worth investigating further, or adding burden without benefit? A genuine deficiency or a well-supported intervention earns its place. Others may not. We never ask you to stop prescribed medications or clinician-directed treatment without your prescriber involved.

I already have recent labs. Can you review them?+

Yes — that’s the preferred starting point. The Thriveology Evaluation includes a review of the labs you already have. Only if a result would clarify an important question or change a decision do we recommend a specific additional test.

How soon will I notice a difference?+

Everyone is different, but many clients feel the change in as little as 12 weeks once the right priorities are in place. Lasting change is what the 3- and 6-month programs are built for — and they’re designed to end with you confidently managing your own health.

Make your health efforts count.
